Priyanka Chopra in a still from Fashion.
New Delhi:
Bollywood actress Priyanka Chopra won a National Award for Madhur Bhandarkar's
Fashion in 2008, but she wouldn't even have been in the film if she'd taken the advice she was given by some who thought appearing in the film was 'silly.'
Priyanka revealed this to her followers on Twitter:
Priyanka was commenting on the spate of films written for a female lead character like Anushka Sharma's
NH 10 and Deepika Padukone's
Piku, both of which have fared better than most other films this year.
Priyanka, who has been busy shuttling between continents for her various work assignments which include ABC's TV show
Quantico, Sanjay Leela Bhansali's
Bajirao Mastani and promotions of her upcoming film
Dil Dhadakne Do, was catching up on her movie quota for the year.
She was all praises for her
Mary Kom co-star Darshan Kumaar, who was cast in a negative role
NH 10.
Meanwhile, the other films on her bucket list are Deepika Padukone's
Piku, which has received rave reviews, and Kangana Ranaut's
Tanu Weds Manu Returns, the most recent Bollywood release.
Soon after her tweets, Priyanka logged off social media to report to the sets of
Bajirao Mastani.
In the film, Priyanka will be seen in the role of Peshwa Bajirao's (played by Ranveer Singh) first wife Kashi Bai, while Deepika will be seen as his second wife, Mastani.
