Highlights

  • Narendra Modi, BJP's prime ministerial candidate, has found an admirer in item girl and actress Rakhi Sawant who said Mr Modi will be the next Prime Minister.
  • Ms Sawant visited the BJP office in Delhi today to tie a 'rakhis' on the wrists of ex-servicemen and to have a cup of tea, in probable reference to Narendra Modi's Chai Pe Charcha campaign.
  • When asked whether she would be joining the BJP, Ms Sawant said she hadn't thought about it. "I have just come here, it is my house, I am the BJP's daughter. I have come here to have tea. I don't know if I will be joining the BJP, it is up to the senior leaders," said Rakhi. "Just the way I have come from Mumbai to Delhi, I want country's janta to come on the streets and vote for Narendra Modi. I am certain he will be the new PM," she added.

  • In January, actor Salman Khan lunched and flew kites with Mr Modi in Ahmedabad during the festival of Uttarayan.
