New Delhi: Ranbir Kapoor's directors are, perhaps unsurprisingly, cashing in on his filmi pedigree. His earliest hit, Bachna Ae Haseeno, was named after a hit song starring his father Rishi Kapoor from the 1977 film Hum Kisise Kum Naheen. The name Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani, one of Ranbir's most successful films yet, is derived from the first line of the title song from Jawani Diwani, a 1972 classic that starred his uncle Randhir Kapoor and Jaya Bachchan. The latest Kapoor connection has the 33-year-old actor channeling grand-uncle Shammi Kapoor. (Also Read: Ae Dil Hai Mushkil to Yuvvraaj: Bollywood Films That Were Shot in Austria)

Ranbir is currently working on Karan Johar's Ae Dil Hai Mushkil in Europe. After finishing shooting in London, Ranbir was seen filming in Paris with co-star Anushka Sharma. The location was a 'No Photography' zone, but some fans did manage to shoot video of Ranbir and Anushka dancing to the tunes of An Evening in Paris. This was posted on Instagram a few days ago:

Yes, it looks like after Jawani Diwani, Ranbir is now borrowing inspiration from another Kapoor hit from the past. The 1967 movie titled An Evening in Paris featured Shammi Kapoor opposite actress Sharmila Tagore.

There are few who can match the energy of Shammiji so Ranbir clearly has big boots to fill. After Paris, the Ae Dil Hai Mushkil action seems to have shifted to Berlin where the Kapoor lad was later seen enjoying himself at the ongoing Oktoberfest.
