Ranbir Kapoor, Ranveer Singh and a Jadoo Ki Jhappi at Arjun's Party

Ranveer hugged Ranbir the moment the Bombay Velvet actor got off his car

New Delhi: Munna Bhai's jaadoo ki jhappi formula really works. After hug diplomacy helped smooth over spikiness between Salman and Shah Rukh Khan, actors Ranbir Kapoor and Ranveer Singh were photographed in a clinch at Arjun Kapoor's 30th birthday party last Saturday.

Ranbir and Ranveer embraced warmly the moment the Bombay Velvet actor exited his car. The elephant in the room was absent actress Deepika Padukone, who dated Ranbir some years ago and is now rumoured to be in a relationship with Ranveer, her co-star in the work-in-progress film Bajirao Mastani.

Actress Katrina Kaif, who Ranbir is now dating, also hugged Ranveer.

Deepika, who starred with Arjun in last year's Finding Fanny, was inexplicably missing from the birthday revels. This was the second missed opportunity for a photographed hug between Ranbir-Katrina and Deepika, after last month's party to celebrate Deepika's film Piku. Ranbir and Katrina didn't show, despite an invite from Deepika.

Arjun, who turned 30 on June 26, also invited several other colleagues, including cousin Sonam Kapoor, actors Jacqueline Fernandez and Aditya Roy Kapur, and director Karan Johar and Ayan Mukerji, the last of who is Ranbir's best friend.

Clearly in high spirits, Ranbir, Ranveer, Arjun and Karan Johar happily posed for pictures together.

Meanwhile, Sonam and Jacqueline giggled and pouted like a pair of school girls as they posed for a picture with KJo.

Producer Manmohan Shetty's daughter Aarti, a part of Ranbir and Karan Johar's inner circle, Sonam's sister Rhea and Arjun's sister Anshula Kapoor were also spotted having a good time.
