Mumbai: Actor Ranveer Singh said that he owes his career to filmmaker Aditya Chopra.

Ranveer was launched by Aditya Chopra's Yash Raj Films as he made his debut in Bollywood with 2010's Band Baaja Baarat. Ranveer will be seen in Aditya Chopra's Befikre, in which the actor will portray the role of a chocolate boy. (Also Read: Ranveer is Proud that After Shah Rukh, Aditya Chopra Will Direct Him)

"It will be a full chocolate boy look. Last Sunday, was the first day we started filming Befikre. We did the costume trials and all. I don't know exactly, what my look in the film will be like," said Ranveer.

The 30-year-old actor said that a lot of people questioned Aditya's decision to launch Ranveer in 2010.

"When Adi launched me, many people told him that he had lost it. What did he see in me? He said that he saw something in me. So, he will launch me as the first boy, as the solo hero lead that Yash Raj Films had never done," added Ranveer.

"I was from nowhere, yet this guy had faith in me. During the first audition of Band Baaja Baarat, he saw my entire career unfolding. So, he saw a potential in me in the first shot. I owe my career to him," said Ranveer.

Ranveer was surprised that Aditya asked him to prepare for Befikre for three months.

"Bajirao Mastani was a mammoth of a film. I had three weeks to prepare and for this light, romantic film (Befikre), Aditya Chopra wants me to prepare for three months. I asked Adi that do we really need to prepare that much. It's a light, breezy, romantic film that we are going to shoot in Paris. As soon as my hair grows back to a satisfactory length, we will start shooting. After the intense year that I have had, I will be doing a light romantic film," added Ranveer.
