Ranveer Singh received the Entertainer Of the Year Award.

New Delhi: There was much Ranveer Singh at the NDTV Indian of the Year awards in New Delhi on February 3, and it was such fun. The 30-year-old actor was awarded Entertainer of the Year for his work in the films Bajirao Mastani and Dil Dhadakne Do and thanked NDTV in a statement released on his behalf by Yash Raj Films.

"It really feels amazing. I'm very humbled and very grateful that I'm being given this honour by such a respected institution like NDTV whose contribution towards nation building is indelible. It feels amazing to know that my name has joined the ranks of some of the greatest icons of Indian entertainment and some of the most illustrious achievers of our country," said Ranveer in the statement.

While accepting his award from politician Farooq Abdullah, Ranveer broke into a jig as the song Malhari from Bajirao Mastani played. To everybody's - or nobody's - surprise, Mr Abdullah, 78, joined Ranveer in an impromptu dance-off. (Also Read: Much Ranveer Singh, Such Fun. 10 Blockbuster Moments From NDTV Awards)

It is a memorable experience, and thanks to Barkha Dutt for making it so much fun and an evening, which I will never forget. I have to say, I feel a growing sense of responsibility now, being given this award which is a really, really big tag - Entertainer of the Year.
