- "You can say that I have never done an all out action role so far. But with this I am hoping that I can send out a signal to filmmakers that I am keen to do action and stunt-oriented roles as well," Ranvir said at the launch of Khatron Ke Khiladi 5.
- Ranvir admitted that his actress-wife Konkona Sen Sharma was concerned about him but he wanted to do something "adventurous" in his life and that's why he took the show.
- "She was a little concerned, she wanted me to be sure of what I am doing. But this is what I promised myself, to do something adventurous when I turn 40. So this is it," said the actor.
- The new season of Khatron Ke Khiladi features 12 contestants including actors Rajneesh Duggal, Nikitin Dheer, Dayanand Shetty, Mahhii Vij, Pooja Gor, Kushal Tandon, Gauahar Khan, choreographer-actor Salman Yusuff Khan, actress Mugdha Godse, stuntwoman Geeta Tandon and Femina Miss India International Rochelle Maria Rao.
- The show will be shot in Cape Town, South Africa, this year.
