  • When mediapersons later approached her with queries about the functioning of Parliament which is in a state of stalemate, she did not respond.
  • Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs Rajiv Shukla sought to explain her silence by saying "she is unhappy that Parliament is not functioning".
  • Rekha was nominated to the Upper House in April last year along with cricket icon Sachin Tendulkar and industrialist Anu Aga.
  • Sachin Tendulkar did not turn up for voting today as he was busy with the IPL season but has said that he will attend the Monsoon Session, Shukla said.
