Anushka’s character in the film is called Akira, not Muskaan as previously thought.
Details about Anushka Sharma's role in Yash chopra's swan song Jab Tak Hai Jaan have now been revealed. Anushka, who co-stars for the second time with Shah Rukh Khan, plays a journalist with the Discovery Channel producing a documentary on the character played by SRK.
Anushka's character in the film is called Akira, not Muskaan as previously thought. Jab tak hai Jaan will tell the story of the central character Samar - an army officer played by Shah Rukh Khan - through the eyes of Akira and the documentary-within-a-film which is called The Man Who Cannot Die.
"Hi. I am Akira. I work for the Discovery Channel. And I am on a quest to discover the truth behind the compelling story of The Man Who Cannot Die," said Anushka Sharma on the release of her character in the movie.
Anushka first co-starred with Shah Rukh Khan in Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi, her debut film. The movie was produced by Yash Raj Film as was her next few movies Badmaash Company, Band Baaja baraat and Ladies Vs Ricky Bahl. Anushka will be next seen in Vishal Bhardwaj's Matru Ki Bijlee Ka Mandola.
Jab Tak Hai Jaan also stars Katrina Kaif. Katrina was supposed to feature in a song shot in Switzerland - a Yash Chopra hallmark - but could not because of the director's unexpected death on October 21 from multiple organ failure.
Yash Chopra's wife Pamela Chopra has decided to go ahead with a star-studded, grand premiere for Jab Tak Hai Jaan. "I want to give my husband an unforgettable farewell. Accordingly, we have decided to have a grand premiere for his ultimate film, Jab Tak Hai Jaan, exactly the way he wanted it. This is a fitting tribute to a man who would have had it no other way," Mrs Chopra said in a statement.
Jab Tak Hain Jaan, Yash Chopra's 22nd film, will release on November 13.
