Rishi Kapoor, Fawad Khan and a Hilarious Case of 'Lassi And Sons'

New Delhi: It's the senior Kapoor to watch out for, say the Kapoor And Sons co-stars Alia Bhatt, Sidharth Malhotra and Fawad Khan. And while they were scared to share screen space with Rishi Kapoor, it has been an overwhelming experience for many.

"I love him," said actor Fawad Khan.

"He is hospitable, charming and funny but I think you should ask Sid (Sidharth Malhotra) since he was picked upon. His version would be slightly different from mine, added the Pakistani heartthrob with a smile.

Sidharth Malhotra added with a guffaw, "Since Alia and I had worked with him earlier too, it was ghar ki murgi daal barabar. But Fawad was Rishi sir's favourite. He is a true Punjabi, very hospitable, greets you with food and lassi. So he and Fawad bonded every evening over lassi after 8 pm. The film's director Shakun Batra added, "Maybe we should have called the film 'Lassi And Sons. Lassi, ofcourse, being the cover word for slightly more potent stuff.

Shakun added, "Since Fawad, Alia and Sidharth are closer to me in age and this was the first time I was working with such a senior actor I had to really adjust, but he was the coolest one. The best part was that he would never remember my name, he would call me and say 'arrre', then pause for a whole minute and say 'tera naam kya hai, Shakundra, Doordarshan, Shakuntala?' and then he would abuse me straight. But his joie de vivre is amazing, the stories he has to tell, someone needs to document this seriously."

The film's leading lady Alia Bhatt piped in saying, "We would be scared and he would just lighten up the mood and he is one person who calls a spade a spade and would make no bones about the fact that a take was bad and it should be re-shot."

So much so that when asked which Bollywood remake he would like to be a part of, Fawad Khan said, "Chandni or Lamhe."

Shakun Batra had another story about that how Fawad had convinced him that Rishi Kapoor's character in Kapoor And Sons was an extension of his character in Chandni, 'since he was in a wheelchair there and we could just show a time lapse to Dadu with a cutaway of Sridevi.'
