After playing a ruthless gangster in Agneepath, Rishi Kapoor is taking a big step ahead. In his next film helmed by Nikhil Advani, the veteran actor will essay the role of Dawood Ibrahim.
A source informs, "Although much is not known about the story, the fact remains that it deals with four Indian agents including Irrfan and Arjun Rampal bringing Dawood to India via road. Rishi plays the don who is based out of Karachi. He gets arrested and is being brought back to India. Nikhil has kept the characters and the storyline under wraps."
Bollywood fascination with the dreaded don seems to be unending. In the past too, several leading actors have played the kingpin. In Company, Ajay Devgn played Dawood and in D Randeep Hooda was shown as the young Dawood. In Once Upon A Time in Mumbai Emraan Hashmi played the young kingpin. In fact in films like Black Friday and Shootout At Lokhandwala too, Dawood was 'spotted'. In Maan Gaye Mughal-E-Azam, Dawood was seen in a comic role.
In the upcoming films - Sanjay Gupta's next and in the sequel of Once Upon A Time in Mumbai - Dawood will make an appearance yet again.
