Salman Khan's Bajrangi Bhaijaan is at 300 Cr and Counting

Salman's eighth-in-a-row blockbuster made it's milestone collection exactly a decade and a year after a previous record-breaking Salman film

New Delhi: Bollywood's '100 crore club' is yesterday's news. There's a new, way more exclusive 'club' in town that commands a membership fee of Rs 300 crores from a single film. It currently has just two members - Aamir Khan's PK and new entry Bajrangi Bhaijaan, starring Salman Khan.

In other words, Salman's latest blockbuster has made over Rs 300 crores in India.

Salman's eighth-in-a-row blockbuster made it's milestone collection exactly two decades and a year after a previous record-breaking Salman film.

Bajrangi Bhaijaan has now been in theatres for three weeks and it's broken several records already. It's behind Aamir's PK in overall collections but, given that the film is still showing across the country, that's a record Salman is within shattering distance of.

Bajrangi Bhaijaan, released on the Eid weekend as has become customary with the 49-year-old actor's films, reunites Salman with three former collaborators on previous blockbusters - director Kabir Khan who worked with him on Ek That Tiger, his Bodyguard heroine Kareena Kapoor and Nawazuddin Siddiqui, his co-star from Kick.

The film stars Salman as a Hanuman bhakt who takes a little speech-impaired Pakistani girl under his wing and vows to see her home safely.

Meanwhile, Salman is directed by Sooraj Barjatya, who helmed Hum Aapke Hain Koun!, in Prem Ratan Dhan Payo which releases in November.
