New Delhi: The Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi co-stars Anushka Sharma and Shah Rukh Khan will be walking the ramp for designer Manish Malhotra at Mijwan 2017. The event is being organized by Shabana Azmi's NGO Mijwan Welfare Society. The 66-year-old actress told news agency IANS that she was thankful to the actors for agreeing to be a part of the event. She said: "We've had the fortune of all the stars walking for us -- right from Amitabh Bachchan to Sidharth Malhotra. The only person left was Shah Rukh. I am extremely thankful to him for having agreed to walk the ramp for Mijwan. Anushka Sharma is someone I consider a part of Mijwan family."

Shabana Azmi added: "She has very graciously walked for us earlier." Shabana Azmi, who was last seen in Neerja starring Sonam Kapoor, was all praise for the Sultan actress. She told IANS that Anuskha Sharma is committed to the cause of women empowerment and girl child. "She feels very strongly about it. I am thankful to both the stars," Shabana said.

"The people in the village are so excited because this is their passport to international fame now that Shah Rukh Khan is going to wear something that is being crafted by them," she added.

Mijwan 2017 will be held on March 5 in Delhi.

Shabana said: "Mijwan Summer 2017 is Manish Malhotra at his best. There's a lot of his very glamorous stuff that basically has chikankari from Mijwan women, and then it has been glamourized with a lot of sequins work because that is the style internationally. It has also has a blend of new. He has a lot of shoulderless clothes for the younger generation."

Mijwan Welfare Society has been founded by Shabana's father, Kaifi Azmi. The NGO aims at creating employment opportunities for women and reviving the art of chinkankari embroidery.

Meanwhile, Anushka Sharma and Shah Rukh Khan will be seen together in Imtiaz Ali's next venture titled Rehnuma. They have previously shared the screen space in films such as - Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi and Jab Tak Hai Jaan.
