Filmmaker Karan Johar said that his upcoming co-production
Baar Baar Dekho is a film which celebrates love and life.
Starring Sidharth Malhotra and Katrina Kaif in lead roles, the romantic-drama is directed by newcomer Nitya Mehra.
The makers have acquired the rights for singer Amar Arshi's 1990s Punjabi chartbuster
Tenu Kala Chashma Jajta Ve and will be releasing a revamped version of the track on July 27.
Karan feels the song symbolises the celebratory mood of the film.
"
Baar Baar Dekho is a celebration of life and love and we thought the song would encapsulate that ethos in the best possible way. It kick-starts our campaign and the trailer will be out soon after," Karan said in a statement in Mumbai.
"
Kala Chashma 2.0 is a party starter and has been the heartbeat of the Punjabi music scene for over a decade. Our revamped and rejuvenated version has enhanced the energy to an altogether different level," the filmmaker said.
Co-produced by Excel Entertainment, the film is set to hit screens on September 9.
The director said that they zeroed in on the popular track as it was perfect to announce the arrival of the film's trailer.

Kala Chashma, or
KC as I call it, is a celebratory song. Since
Baar Baar Dekho is a film that celebrates relationships, we wanted a banging number to announce the arrival of its trailer," she said.
The song
Kala Chashma has been composed and recreated by Badshah, and sung by Amar Arshi, Badshah and Neha Kakkar. The video has been choreographed by Bosco and Caesar.
