Sidharth Malhotra: What Alia and I do Off-Screen is Sacred to me

Sidharth and Alia are rumoured to be in a relationship

New Delhi: Actor Sidharth Malhotra does not wish to address rumours that he is dating actress Alia Bhatt as he feels it will 'dilute' the importance of something which is 'sacred' to him. (Also Read: Alia Bhatt, Sidharth Malhotra and the Makings of a Romance. Is it For Real?)

Speculation that the Student of the Year co-stars are together has been doing the rounds for quite some time and though they have chosen to remain silent about it, the two have not shied away from appearing together in public.

"Certain things, if you voice them or you want to say in a particular way dilutes their importance. Especially our personal life, which is precious and sacred to me. Whatever comment I make on it should not matter.

As far as Alia and I are convincing on-screen as lovers, romancing each other that's all that should matter. What we do otherwise in our precious time should be sacred to us, to me," Sidharth told PTI.

The 30-year-old Brothers star said he is a believer of keeping his personal life private. He, however, has no issues talking about his experience of working with Alia in their upcoming film Kapoor & Sons.

"It was exciting that Alia and I got a chance to work again after 'Student'. We have come a long way from the first film. There is a difference in our performances as well."

Sidharth said the Dharma Production film is an 'endearing dramedy' and has a special story.

"'Kapoor & Sons is a very endearing comedy drama. It is a dramedy. It will be a unique, special story to tell. I am quite excited for its release on March 18, 2016.

"I got to work with Rishi Kapoor again after 'Student'. He is playing our grandfather. The warmth and bonding that the whole crew had reflected on-screen. This is the first ensemble for me and the best outdoor shoot I ever had."

The movie, directed by Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu helmer Shakun Batra, also stars Pakistani actor Fawad Khan.

Sidharth said he had a great time working with the Khoobsurat star, with whom he bonded while playing cricket matches, which they used to title 'India vs Pakistan'.

"I had a great working relationship with Fawad. We got along really well after a couple of days. We have same interest in food, in movies.

"We exchanged notes on our cultures, we used to talk about Lahore and Delhi. When we played cricket on sets, we called it India vs Pakistan match. It was exciting," he said.
