Sonakshi Sinha's song in Oh My God is a marketing gimmick: Akshay Kumar

It is for the first time that Sonakshi Sinha has performed a special song with the ace choreographer-director in a film.

  • "I think yes one can say this. It can be a marketing gimmick. There is somebody performing a song during Gokul Ashtami. We requested Prabhu Deva and Sonakshi to do it and they agreed," Akshay said.

  • The film, based on a Gujarati play, Kanji Viruddh Kanji has been directed by Umesh Shukla and is a 'divine' comedy.
  • "I was surprised when I saw the play. I would want everybody to see the film. It is not a preachy movie. It is a fun and entertaining film but yet there is a layer in the film that will hit the audience," Akshay Kumar said.
  • As its his maiden film coming from his new production house Grazing Goat Pictures', the 45-year-old actor is very excited about it.
  • The film will see him playing the role of modern-day God, riding a golden bike.
  • "My look is kept modern as I have to move with everybody.. have to move with time. When God comes he will not show his identity. He is a normal God wearing normal clothes," he said. Akshay Kumar is seen riding this specially designed bike which reportedly is worth about Rs one million. The bike is especially conceptualised for the movie, keeping in mind its theme and concept.
  • "It is called chopper bike, it can fly also... it can move anywhere. It is a very heavy bike and it was custom made .. it took five months... It was not easy to ride this bike. It weighed 300-350 kg. It is quite heavy," he said.
  • Akshay Kumar's co-star Paresh Rawal told him to take easy the role of Lord Krishna easy.
  • "The character is good and I really liked it. Paresh told me you play the role as it is... don't act too much, no need to do homework, no need to watch any film on God. I was asked to act normal. It was very good on Paresh's part to do rehearsals for 15 days," he said.
