A special prayer was conducted at an ashram on city outskirts today for speedy recovery of Tamil actor Rajinikanth who is undergoing treatment for respiratory infection and other complaints in a hospital at Chennai.
About 100 fans participated in the prayer meeting, followed by bhajan for nearly three hours, at the Ashram in Anaikatti, 25 KMs from here, police said.
The fans of the Tirupur District Rajini Fans Association, which organised the prayer meeting, sat in silence during the one-hour prayer which began around 6 AM, police said.
Rajinikanth, who suffered from viral fever and exhaustion recently, was admitted to the Sri Ramachandra Medical centre on May 13, days after he was discharged from another hospital where he was treated for allergic bronchitis and viral fever.
