Light hearted entertainment dominates the box office with the films
Happy Ending and
Dumb and Dumber To up for release today.
Directed by Raj Nidimoru and Krishna DK,
Happy Ending stars Saif Ali Khan, Ileana D'Cruz, Govinda and Kalki Koechlin. It reportedly revolves around a writer (Saif) who's facing writer's block and is in need of inspiration. He is approached by fading star Govinda to write a script for a Hollywood movie in order to save his career.
The film features Saif's wife Kareena Kapoor and his
Kal Ho Naa Ho co-star Preity Zinta in cameo appearances.
Dumb and Dumber To reunites directors Peter and Bobby Farrelly with actors Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels, who played the dim-witted pair Lloyd and Harry in the original film.
In the sequel, they embark on a road trip to find a child that Harry (Daniels) had unknowingly fathered in the past and who was given up for adoption.
Those who prefer action thrillers can opt for Antoine Fuqua's
The Equalizer starring Denzel Washington, Marton Csokas and Chloe Grace Moretz. A retired government operative who has dedicated himself to beginning a new, quiet life is forced to reconsider his plans when he meets a young girl under the control of the Russian mafia.
Titoo MBA, directed by Amit Vats, also hits theatres today. Starring Nishant Dahiya and Pragya Jaiswal, the film is about a boy from Chandigarh who dreams of making it big but ends up with an unexpected career which he wants to conceal from his wife.
