Today's Big Releases: Jazbaa, Rudhramadevi

New Delhi: Actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is all set to make a comeback on the silver screen with Sanjay Gupta's Jazbaa, which releases today.

The Sanjay Gupta-directed film, which also stars Irrfan Khan, revolves around a lawyer whose daughter has been kidnapped. She must defend a criminal on trial successfully in exchange for her daughter. Irrfan plays a suspended cop who helps her in her endeavour.

Aishwarya, who was last seen in 2010's Guzaarish, had taken a sabbatical after her daughter Aaradhya was born in 2011.

Down south, director Gunasekhar has historical drama Rudhramadevi to offer. The film is based on the life of warrior queen Rudhramadevi and Anushka Shetty plays the titular role.

Anushka a had to undergo rigorous training in order to prepare for her role. "I had to learn sword fighting, horse riding and also had to ride an elephant. We have a lot of scenes on an elephant in the film and through the course of the shoot, I developed a wonderful bond with an elephant called Lakshmi. It was so much fun shooting," Anushka told news agency IANS recently.

Rudhramadevi also features Allu Arjun and Rana Daggubati.

Hollywood has Joe Wright's Pan up for release. Featuring Levi Miller and Hugh Jackman in pivotal roles, Pan depicts the story of 12-year-old orphan Peter, who finds himself in Neverland and eventually becomes a hero - Peter Pan.
