  • "I am very grateful to television. When I came here 10 years ago, I didn't have money even for food. Then Neena Gupta offered me Kyun Hota Hai Pyaar. I am very grateful to them, they gave me work. I learnt acting while working for TV. I am very proud of my TV experience," Amit said here on Thursday at the success party of the film.
  • He hopes that other filmmakers will also follow Abhishek Kapoor's way of working and give TV actors like him and debutant Sushant Singh Rajput a chance to do films.
  • "I just hope like Abhishek Kapoor who gave us this opportunity, other filmmakers will get encouraged and will do the same and TV actors will also like it," said Amit.
  • He said very often TV actors are told that they can never do films.
  • "TV actors get depressed, like I was, because people used to tell me, 'You are a TV actor and you won't be able to do films'. But I have done such a big film. So it's a great time," Amit said.
  • Amit has done another TV show Durgesh Nandini and was also on the first season of Bigg Boss.
  • Sushant, who played one of the lead actors in Kai Po Che, also started his career on the small screen with the hit daily soap Pavitra Rishta.
