Vidya Balan's New Year celebrations came to a premature end when
The Dirty Picture star was hospitalised for suspected kidney stone in Mumbai on Wednesday.
Reports suggest that Vidya and her husband, producer Siddharth Roy Kapur had boarded a connecting flight from Abu Dhabi to their undisclosed holiday destination when Vidya suffered shooting pain in her back.
The pain was so severe that the paramedics were called onboard and the couple had to board off. Vidya was later taken to Mumbai where she was admitted to the Hinduja Hospital in Mumbai's Khar area.
In a statement Vidya's spokesperson said, "Vidya is currently in expert hands at Hinduja hospital and is well on her way to recovery."
