What Ranbir and Priyanka will be doing at IIFA this year

  • This year, the IIFA Awards will not be about the Bachchans, or about the Khans. Instead, it will be about Ranbir Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra, both of whom will be looking to get some box office mileage out of the event.
  • The two stars are the latest to join the starry bandwagon, which already includes co-hosts Shahid Kapoor and Farhan Akhtar, at the 13th IIFA Awards to be held in Singapore this month.
  • It has been a fabulous year for Ranbir Kapoor so far, with Rockstar bringing in all the Best Actor awards. He has been signed by Anurag Kashyap, who is among the hottest directors today. But, at IIFA, it will be Barfee, co-starring Ranbir and Priyanka and up for a July release, that will be on the young Kapoor’s agenda.
  • Word is, Ranbir will probably scoop up the Best Actor award for Rockstar, which is a no brainer really, and also perform at the event. What we don’t know is whether it will be a song from Barfee or the usual Rockstar medley.
  • Priyanka Chopra is perhaps the only star who has been a regular at IIFA. She was in Toronto for the awards last year and will perform again this year. This time, Priyanka has two reasons to put her best face forward at IIFA - Teri Meri Kahaani, co-starring Shahid, and Barfee.
  • And while Shahid’s co-host, Farhan, isn’t really in promotion mode yet, he probably won’t miss the opportunity to push Bhaag Milkha Bhaag, currently shooting.
