Why Arjun Made a 'Humble Request' to Cast Sonakshi in Tevar

New Delhi:

It's all about wearing your Tevar, this new year.

Arjun Kapoor looked dapper at the initial promotions of the film in Delhi, in a dhoti salwar and a blue kurta. The actor had been styled by his cousin Rhea Kapoor, who will be styling him through the period leading up to the film's release.

The movie is indeed special for the actor, after all it's his father Boney Kapoor's production, "It's been a dream come true for me, I have always wanted to work with my Dad and now that wish has been fulfilled. Also, it has come at the right time since I have some work to talk off, like Ishaqzaade and 2 States, I cannot tell you what an experience it's been for me," he said.

So is it true he had made a 'humble request ' that Sonakshi Sinha should be cast opposite him?

Sonakshi chirped in, "Come on, everyone wants me."

"Yes, it's true," said Arjun. "But I wanted her in the film because I had a feeling we would look good together. It's just that sometimes you know that these two people, if they come together, will complement each other. She has that kind of a look that you want to look after her and it's a love story on the run and I feel we both managed to get the essence of our characters across," Arjun added.

But will we see you move out of your comfort zone, Sonakshi?

"Yes. I am soon going to be doing Murgadoss' women-oriented film and guess what, there's action too," she said.

But who do they feel has the best Tevar amongst their peers?

"I feel Varun Dhawan. He is always ready to try new stuff. And Ranveer, he has full on Tevar. Maybe he should get it a notch down," chuckled Arjun, a good friend of Ranveer Singh's.

Sonakshi said that for her, full on Tevar was Salman Khan. "He is just so cool and Dabangg," said the actress about her mentor.

In something of a coincidence, Salman mentored both actors. Sonakshi said, "He was our guide, believing in us when we didn't, we were both fat. He began our journey from fat to fit, told us we could be actors and mentored us, and lo here we are."

And lastly the award season seems to have arrived. Arjun is still reeling from the surprise of being awarded Jodi of the Year with Ranveer instead of a female co-star at the Stardust awards. Sonakshi, on the other hand, said though she loved to perform at awards, she couldn't understand why she had been nominated for Holiday: A Soldier is Never Off Duty.

"I did a Lootera, and never won an award for a film in which I had performed well but they have nominated me yes for an award winning film, but come on there wasn't much for me to do in it. It was Akshay's film all the way. This much judgment we all have on whether we deserve an award or not," Sonakshi said.

Well, truly, Bollywood's Gen Next doesn't mince words and have the right Tevar to make it big.
