Ekta was not available for comment, but director Sachin Yardi, who also scripted the first Kya Kool Hain Hum , confirmed the news. He says, "Though the luck factor was also influential to some extent, Goa fitted the requirement of the script perfectly."

Yardi takes over the reigns from Sangeeth Sivan, who helmed the first edition. He tells us that the sequel explores a new story, but the two protagonists remain the same. "While Tusshar Kapoor and Riteish Deshmukh are confirmed, we're yet to finalise their leading ladies and the rest of the cast," said the writer-director.

He further reveals that they haven't decided the shooting locations in the beach state. "I'll do a recce this August before we fix the locales.Once that's locked, we'll start production in September," he adds.
