A year after Kolaveri Di, Rahman's song going viral

This time last year, a Tamil song called Kolaveri Di sung by actor Dhanush took the country by storm. This year, A R Rahman's Nenjukulle may just do the same.

Nenjukulle, from director Mani Ratnam's new Tamil movie Kadal, debuted on November 3 in season 2 of MTV India's Unplugged and is quickly going viral with over 139,000 views on the music channel's website, 44,000 likes on Facebook and over a 161,000 views on YouTube already.

Kolaveri Di, from the Tamil film 3, received released on November 21, 2012. It over 50 million views on YouTube now.

Nenjukulle has been sung by Shakthisree Gopalan who also sang the title song of just-released Shah Rukh Khan film Jab Tak Hai Jaan, music by A R Rahman. Kadal, which releases this December, stars debutant actors Gautham Karthik and Thulasi Nair. Director Mani Ratnam gave Rahman his big break with Roja in 1992 and the two have collaborated frequently ever since.
