The 30-year-old actress is friends with the designer,who will stand trial in Paris on June 22 on charges ofverbally abusing three people with anti-Semitic and racistslurs on two separate occasions earlier this year.
While she is not defending his actions, she says hisbehaviour was very out of character, reported The Observer.
"I haven't spoken to him. It's difficult to talk aboutthis subject, because I don't really know what happened." He isextremely fragile, a very sensitive, creative person with agreat sense of humour and he's always been so kind to me. He'svery shy. I adore him. It's been very brutal and I really justwish he could go back in time and for it not to happen.
"I'm sure he's going to get back [in to fashion]because he's so talented. Sometimes, you can make mistakes. Idon't think he's anti-Semitic. I'm Jewish. I don't think hehas anything against the Jews. I think it's more that he wasprobably a bit drunk," the actress said.
Green also believes the couple who filmed thedesigner's outbursts should take some responsibility.
"Something must have happened to trigger the outburst.I'm very sad. He has to get better. He's very vulnerable,"said Green.
Following the incident, Galliano reportedly checkedinto The Meadows rehab clinic in Arizona after being urged toget help for his alcohol problems by Kate Moss and NaomiCampbell.
