London: Sex and the City author Candace Bushnell believes that there will not be a third movie in the popular franchise, reported Daily Mirror.

The 56-year-old American author, whose books were made into a hugely successful HBO series and two movies, hinted that she would like there to be another movie but it is not happening anytime soon.

During an appearance on TV show This Morning on September 29, she said, "A couple of years ago I kept hearing that there was going to be one but now it's a no. But I'd probably be the last to know, along with the actors."

Earlier Sarah Jessica Parker, who plays the lead role of Carrie, hinted heavily at another movie on Instagram as rumours swirled this year. The actress, however, said that they had not discussed another film yet. (Also Read: When Sarah Jessica Parker Tried to Bargain Out of Sex and the City Contract)

The popular TV series ran for six seasons from 1998 till 2004.

Sex and the City: The Movie was a hit but the second film released in 2010 was panned by critics as it featured the cast in Abu Dhabi, away from their usual haunts in New York.
