Yes, the film has earned a whopping Rs 70 crore in it's opening weekend in India - a first by any Hollywood release so far. In an interview, Sarabjit Singh, GM, Universal India said, "This is a huge achievement for a Hollywood movie in India. Hopefully, this will continue to go strong and attract more audiences to the theatres in the coming weeks."
The movie, which released in over 2000 screens in India and was dubbed in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi, has broken several box office records in India.
On the other hand, director Dibakar Bannerjee's
Detective Byomkesh Bakshy! has managed to make only Rs 14 crore on the opening weekend.
