Hollywood actor Liam Hemsworth,
who got his first big break with much anticipated film Hunger
Games, says acting was never his first choice and he followed
his brothers into acting.
The 22-year-old says his elder brothers Luke and Chris,
who have a well off career in Hollywood, were the main reason
he took up acting.
"I used to like drama and also acted in a few skits and
plays. However as time passed by my interest in acting
developed even more and I followed my brothers into acting,"
Liam said.
The actor also says the comparisons drawn between him and
his brothers don't bother him and he takes it as an
opportunity to learn from them.
"One often seem to compare when ones siblings are of the
same profession but for me it's a chance to learn as I am the
youngest so it gives me that much more to learn from Chris &
Luke," he added.
Liam, who is paired opposite actress Jennifer Lawrence in
the film Hunger Games, says although he was nervous doing
the stunts, he enjoyed the experience.
"I think the others experienced a little more than I did.
I enjoyed doing the stunts. When I was there, for the most
part, it was ridiculously hot. We were shooting in a beautiful
place, out in the woods in Ashville, these great mountains.
But when I was there it was just really hot. However it was a
great experience," he added.
Based on the novel of the same name by Suzanne Collins,
the film also stars Josh Hutcherson, Elizabeth Banks and Woody
Harrelson.
"I heard about the book about a year before the films
went ahead. I didn't read them until I heard the film was
going ahead, then I read the books and loved them. I got
called to come and read with Gary Ross and got along with him
really well and really enjoyed everything he had to say about
the project.
"Then a week later I came in and read with Jennifer she
was great too; I really got along with her, she's an amazing
actress. Really, really easy to work with. And then we started
filming," Liam said.
The actor, who is more in the limelight for dating
singer-actress Miley Cyrus rather than his work, says the
gossip and paparazzi doesn't affect him as long as he is fair
towards his work.
"I cant help it if the media wants to highlight my
personal life more than my professional life but as long as I
am doing well for myself professionally it doesn't bother me
much. I like being open about things so there is less chances
for rumors and gossips. Well with time and experience one gets
used to the paparazzi and all the attention," he added.
On being asked if he has seen any Bollywood film, Liam
said, "Bollywood is colourful cinema with a lot of dance and
songs however I cannot recollect any names."
