Johnny Depp, Amber Heard to 'Avoid' Australia After Dog Fiasco

Johnny Depp had flown in his pets into Austraila with documentation.

Los Angeles: Actress Amber Heard, who is busy promoting her upcoming film Magic Mike XXL, said that she is no more a fan of Australia. Amber said she and her actor-husband Johnny Depp will avoid visiting the country after the dog fiasco, reported Us magazine.

"I have a feeling we're going to avoid the Land Down Under from now on, just as much as we can, thanks to certain politicians there," the 29-year-old actress replied when asked about her pooches, Pistol and Boo, whom she shares with Mr Depp.

"I don't know, I guess everyone tries to go for their 15 minutes, including some government officials," she added. Barnaby Joyce, Australia's agriculture minister, was the target of the actress' snipe.

The politician made headlines when he threatened to have the dogs euthanized because Mr Depp had his pets flown in on a private plane in May without documentation.

Australia has very strict biosecurity laws for pets coming into the country, which includes medical testing, proof of vaccinations, blood work, and more to ensure that the animals are healthy.
