Actress Julia Roberts' mother, Betty Lou Bredemus, 80, died in Los Angeles on February 20, reports aceshowbiz.com.
Her death occurred just one year after Julia lost her half-sister, Nancy Motes, to an apparent overdose.
She was suffering from lung cancer. Ms Bredemus, who used to be a school teacher, is survived by her children Eric Roberts, Julia and Lisa Gillan.
She once ran an acting school in Smyrna, Georgia. Her first husband, Walter Grady Roberts, died of throat cancer when their daughter Julia was just 10.

The Secret in Their Eyes, hasn't issued a comment on her mother's death.
It is also not known when and where Ms Bredemus will be buried.
