Filming will start July 11 in Rome, and will be the first time Allen has used the Italian capital as the setting for one of his productions.
The Bop Decameron will be financed by Italy's Medusa Film.Both Cruz and Baldwin have worked previously with Allen, she in the 2008 film
Vicky Cristina Barcelona, a role that won her an Oscar for Best Supporting Actress, and he in the 1990 movie
Alice.
Woody Allen's latest work was
Midnight in Paris, which premiered in May.
