Soon after Aishwarya Bachchan said yes to playing detective in the sequel to the Pink Panther series, she said alvida to Karan Johar's next.

She replaces the sexy Beyonce Knowles to play the hot Indian detective opposite Steve Martin and Andy Garcia in the Pink Panther, but the actress says she is no longer comfortable playing sexy on the Indian screen.

Aishwarya's reason, after hearing the screen play for Karan Johar's next, is that the role was too sexy and did not suit her married image.

Karan was casting her opposite husband Abhishek and actor John Abraham.

However, according to sources her character in the film is involved with both men and Ash felt it would not be the right part for her. Priyanka Chopra has now been signed for the role.

From Ishq Kameena to Kajrare and then the very sexy Sunheri in Dhoom 2 the skin show and lip lock reportedly did not go down too well with the Bachchans, so the ideal bahu is now steering clear of all controversies.

In contrast to her Armaani gowns in Cannes, Ash is now seen dressed demurely in Sarees and Salwar Kurtas when making public appearances as Mrs Bachchan.

So how does she plan to measure up to Beyonce's hot avatar? Only Ash can answer whether she will bend the rules for Pink Panther.
