This one is a first in Indian cinema. Anytime after July 11, go to the nearest cinema hall to watch Hindi film Mukhbir. But if one doesn't like it they can cite the reasons and the producer will actually refund the ticket cost.
The maker of Mukhbir clearly wears his confidence on his sleeve.
In a first-of-its-kind strategy, the producer has offered to refund the ticket cost to those who do not like the film. That number, he predicts, will be in a minority.
"If you don't like the movie, you have to fill in an application or write on a piece of paper writing two lines on why you did not like the film. Enclose a self-addressed envelope so that we can post the Demand Draft to you in 30 days," said Sudhish Rambhotla, Producer, Mukhbir.
Mukhbir's director Mani Shankar would hope the producer is not landing him in hot water.
The thriller is the story of a spy in the underworld who is recruited by intelligence agencies and lives his life without a name or identity yet he single-handedly foils a terror attack.
"He is only 19, barely educated and he has been burnt in the sense that he has had a bad past. That bad past has been psychologically used by the intelligence. The intelligence is not his friend, he has no friends and usually he knows the bullet might come from the front or from the back," says Mani Shankar, Director, Mukhbir
The Rs eight crore film stars Suneil Shetty, Om Puri, Jackie Shroff and Sameer Dattani. Those involved with Mukhbir would hope their satisfaction guarantee scheme tempts a larger audience to sample their product.
