New York, I love You, comprising 11 stories by as many directors, invites the audience into the intimate lives of New Yorkers.
The movie, a collaboration of story telling from some of today's most imaginative filmmakers, creates a kaleidoscope of the spontaneous, surprising, electrifying human connections that pump the vibrant American city's heartbeat.
From Tribeca to Central Park to Brooklyn, the story weaves a tale of love as diverse as the very fabric of New York itself, says producer Emmanuel Benbihy.
The film, screened at the just-concluded Mumbai Film Festival, is set for a theatrical release on November 27.
Benbihy said the directors with simple screenplays made each story visually identified with one or more New York
neighbourhoods. Each narrative, being 8 minutes long, was shot by the directors in just two days, while post production work was wrapped up another seven days.
"There just doesn't exist a structure in film making for making a movie with more than two directors, so it has its own unique process. This meant that there had to be really good communication between everyone on this new production format," Benbihy stated.
`New York...' has been directed by Jian Wen, Mira Nair, Shunji Iwai, Yvan Attal, Brett Ratner, Allen Hughes, Shekhar Khapur, Natalie Portman, Fatih Akin, Joshua Marston and Randy Balsmeyer.
