New Delhi:

Don't blame BRIT Awards tumble on the cape, designer Giorgio Armani has told popstar Madonna. The 80-year-old designer hit back at the Living For Love singer saying, "Madonna, as we know, is very difficult. This cape had a hook and she wanted a tie, and she wasn't able to open it with her hands. That's all there is to it," reports People Magazine.

Madonna fell spectacularly while performing at the BRIT Awards on February 25, after a back-up dancer failed to undo the Armani-designed cape that was part of her costume. (Also Read: Ouch! Madonna Falls Off Stage at BRIT Awards )

On Instagram, Madge said the cape was 'tied too tight,' a comment that has enraged the man who designed it:

Underneath the cape, Madonna was wearing a scarlet bullfighter's costume, also made by Armani.

The popstar told British TV host Jonathon Ross that 'the universe' was trying to teach her a 'lesson.' She also said, "It was a horrible nightmare because I like to be amazing. Seriously I rehearse and I rehearse and I rehearse so that when I do the show, it's effortless and I create magic and I did the opposite. I actually created a horror show for everyone."
