New Delhi: Cheryl Cole will receive her full US 'X Factor' pay - if she agrees to keep quiet about her experience.

The British singer was axed from the show after just four days but could still net the $2 million she was to receive for working on the TV talent contest, providing she agrees not to bad-mouth the show or its chief Simon Cowell.

A source told the Daily Mirror newspaper: "Cheryl is going to be paid off if things go to plan.

"The last thing we need is someone with an axe to grind saying bad things about the show before it even starts.

"We hope a simple statement can be released next week and that will be the end of it. It's is an incredible amount of money for four days' work, but this is a multi-million dollar show with so much invested, it will be worth it. If she takes the money she is effectively agreeing to a gag."

It had been claimed that producers Fremantle had told the singer she had to apply for a US visa in order to get paid for the work she did on the show.

A source told the Hollywood Reporter: "They don't want to pay her. It's a chess match."
According to the insider, Cheryl - who has not yet been officially fired from the job on 'X Factor', but is believed to have been replaced by Nicole Scherzinger - wants to be paid for the work she has performed on the show "out of principle" because she "moved her whole life to Los Angeles" on the back of the job.

She now intends to apply for the visa so she can appear as on the final edit of the show.

It has been claimed that she will either be referred to as a "guest" judge when the auditions she presided over are aired, or the whole drama behind her dismissal will be included.

Cheryl reportedly turned down double pay to reappear as a judge on the UK 'X Factor', which began filming on Wednesday (01.06.11).
