Courtney Love writing an autobiography

London: Singer Courtney Love is writing an autobiography about her life including her marriage to Nirvana member Kurt Cobain, drug issues and Hollywood career.

The 47-year-old hopes to set the record straight in thebook and is expected to cover her life as an aspiringmusician, life after Cobain's death and her attemptedHollywood career, reported Contactmusic.

Love has one daughter, 19-year-old Frances Bean, withCobain. According to publishers William Morrow, the book willbe a collaboration with writer Anthony Bozza who has writtenwith musicians Tommy Lee and Slash.

Among controversies the book may address an incident whenshe apparently asked Hollywood writer Neil Strauss to join herin snorting her husband's ashes.

In Strauss' book Everyone Loves You When You Are Dead, he said "She walks to a dresser, pulls open a drawer, and removes a square-shaped tin. She removes the lid, revealing a plastic bag full of white ashes. A faint smell of jasmineemanates from the tin.

"Courtney said, 'Too bad you don't do coke. Otherwise I'd suggest taking a metal straw to it. I replied, 'Yeah, I don't think that would be the right thing to do. She said, 'I'd like to though."

Love was controversially rumoured to have taken heroinwhen she was pregnant with Frances, but has maintained shegave up on drugs in 1996.

"I promised I would never shoot heroin again, and Ihaven't, except for one incident in July 2005, where I shotmyself up on purpose to kill myself," Love said.

The singer has previously written another book, 2006'sDirty Blonde: The Diaries of Courtney Love, which consisted of years worth of personal photos, journal entries, song lyrics, letters, poems, and drawings. Her new memoir is expected to be available in Autumn 2012.
