Is Scientology row behind J Lo-Anthony split?

London: There seems to me more to it than in meets the eye in case of the recent split between the singer couple Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony.

While reports were rife of Marc Anthony being a control freak, the news now that is now surfacing are that there may be another factor in their split.

The other big reason that could have led to the split is rumored to be J-Lo's commitment to Scientology as the singer, who called off her seven-year marriage to Marc Anthony last month, was hoping to send the couple's three-year-old twins Max and Emme to a specialist Scientology school.

But Anthony, also 42, wasn't so keen on the idea, reported Daily Mail.

The religion is now being speculated to be a bone of contention between the two.

Singer Jennifer Lopez is apparently close friends with Tom Cruise and wife Katie Holmes, who are also staunch Scientologists.

She said in a recent interview that she "wouldn't mind" having her twins educated by the church, adding: "I just wish that people wouldn't judge it without knowing what it is."

A source was quoted saying: "Jennifer and Marc couldn't see eye-to-eye on the subject. She's always been more into the church than him. He wasn't a huge fan and it caused problems."

It was earlier reported that the singer duo of Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony were taking professional business meetings at the Church of Scientology Celebrity Centre in Hollywood, California, in late 2006.

It was also rumored that Lopez and Anthony became Scientologists during that period with the help of Angelo Pagan, the husband of The King of Queens actress and Scientologist Leah Remini.

"I'm not a Scientologist, I was raised Catholic. But it's funny the way people come at it. To me it's so strange. These are some of the best people I've ever met in my life,"Jennifer Lopez had said to a television channel prior to the surfacing of the reports.

She added, "My dad has been a Scientologist for 20 years. He's the best man that I know in my life and so, it's weird to me that people want to paint it in a negative way."

Jennifer Lopez has been in high-profile relationships with Ojani Noa, Sean Combs, Cris Judd, Ben Affleck, before her marriage to singer Marc Anthony.
