Justin Bieber Set To Host MTV Music Awards

Highlights

  • Teen sensation Justin Bieber is reportedly being lined up to host the forthcoming MTV Europe Music Awards (EMAs) after impressing bosses with his online stint last year.
  • The 17-year-old singer is said to be favourite to front the event in Belfast, Northern Ireland in November as bosses were pleased with his turn as the online host at last year's ceremony in Madrid, Spain, reported Sun online.
  • "Justin was such a hit that bosses are considering him for the main event this year. Snoop Dogg, Katy Perry and Miley Cyrus are also contenders but at the moment it's swinging in Justin's favour," said a source.
  • If he lands the role, the 'Baby' hitmaker would be the youngest-ever host of the ceremony, with organisers believing his presence will convince millions of his fans to tune in.
  • But they are worried proceedings will be complicated if he also wins many of the awards he is tipped for.
  • "With him in charge they have the guarantee that his millions of fans worldwide will tune in. The only problem is he's likely to win a few awards so it could make his hosting duties more awkward," the source added.
  • Last year, the ceremony was hosted by actress Eva Longoria. Both Dogg and Perry also having previously presided over the ceremony, in 2008 and 2009 respectively.
