Los Angeles: Rumours about a possible comeback by the Spice Girls have been rubbished by Emma Bunton and Melanie Chisholm.

Bunton, 35, better known as Baby Spice and Chisholm, 37, nicknamed Mel C, dismissed reports that the band members are feuding over a new album release in a series of posts on social networking website Twitter.

"The stories in the papers yesterday are absolute rubbish and I know our Spice fans don't believe a word of it," wrote Bunton.

Chisholm added, "Stories in UK papers about a Spice Girls album are complete nonsense. Bore off!! I am very proud to be a Spice Girl and always will be. It's the false stories which are annoying."

Earlier a British tabloid had alleged that Chisholm and Melanie Brown were keen to release a record of previously unheard material. But Bunton, Victoria Beckham and Geri Halliwell were said to be opposed to the idea.
