  • Noted playback singer Krishna Kumar Kunnath, popularly known as 'KK', who has sung number of popular songs in various languages including Hindi, Tamil and Telugu, has bagged the "Singer of the Year' award instituted by cultural outfits 'Eenam' and 'Swaralaya'.
  • A Delhi-based Keralite 'KK' has many superhits including Mujko Pahchan Lo(Don 2), Mere Brother Ki Dulhan, O mama (7 khoon maaf), En Vennilave (Tamil film Adukalam) and so on in his credit.
  • He was selected on the popularity of his songs, G Rajmohan, Chairman, Kerala Chapter, 'Eenam', said after declaring the award.
  • The songs mazhaneerthullikal (Beautiful) by Unni Menon and chinni chinni (Urmi) by Manjari have been choosen as the 'songs of the year', he said.
  • The award, comprising a cash prize of Rs 50,000 and a citation would be presented to him at a function in April.
  • The other singers will receive a cash prize of Rs 25,000 and a citation at the same event, he said.
  • The singers were selected through an online poll. Noted music critic Ravi Menon gave creative support for the selection, he added.
