Rockers U2 have delayed therelease of their upcoming album due to halted recordingsessions.

The Irish band has been working on its 13th studioalbum, the follow-up to 2009's 'No Line on the Horizon', with'Gnarls Barkley' star Danger Mouse and producer RedOne.

But they had to postpone the release date after studiosessions failed to go as per plans, reported Daily Star.

The Grammy winning band hoped to get the new materialfinished and ready for release within the next few monthsbut according to bassist Adam Clayton, the recording sessionswith RedOne were not working and their busy schedule has ledto further delay of studio work.

"We had to have a meeting and look at the schedule tosee if we could pick up any extra time to work on it. We justrealised that we couldn't. To be honest, everyone was a bitgutted. But it was the only sensible decision (to postponeit).

"We have to focus on what we do best, and the work wedid with Danger Mouse came closest to that. We want to be inthe clubs and make pop music as well as the thing U2 does, butin the end, the thing we did with RedOne doesn't feel like theright fit," said Clayton.

The album is now scheduled to be released late nextyear.
