Neha Dhupia was born in Cochin on August 27, 1980 to a Sikh family. Her father, Commander Sandip Dhupia, served in the Indian Navy.
Neha studied at the Naval Public School and then in New Delhi's Army Public School. She graduated from Delhi's Jesus and Mary College with a degree in history.
Neha was bitten by the acting bug while still at school. She started out on stage in a play called Graffiti.
Neha also appeared in a music video for Euphoria and fronted many modeling assignments.
She then appeared in TV serial Rajdhani which also featured actors Randeep Hooda and Dalip Tahil.
In 2002, Neha won the Femina Miss India pageant and went on to make it to the top 10 in the Miss Universe pageant held in Puerto Rico.
Ticket to Bollywood: With her stint as Miss India behind her, Neha made her movie debut in Qayamat: City Under Threat (2003).
Bollywood sat up and took notice of her in her second movie, Julie (2004), in which she played the risqué role of a prostitute.
Neha then appeared in the comedy Kya Kool Hai Hum. Produced by Ekta Kapoor, the movie also starred Tusshar Kapoor, Riteish Deshmukh, Anupam Kher and Isha Koppikar.
Neha then appeared in a steady stream of movies including Garam Masala, Chup Chup Ke and Delhi Heights.
In 2007, Neha starred in Ek Chalis Ki Last Local with Abhay Deol. The movie was an interesting story about two people who miss the last local train at 1:40 am and how it changes the course of their lives forever.
Neha also played a supporting role in the Akshay Kumar-Katrina Kaif film Singh Is Kinng, which became a huge hit.
Bandit Queen: In 2010, Neha Dhupia followed up her appearance in Action Replayy, starring Aishwarya Rai and Akshay Kumar, with her role as the female version of Gabbar Singh in her next release, Phas Gaye Re Obama. The small budget comedy featured Neha and Rajat Kapoor in the lead roles.
She then starred in Dasvidaniya, Maharathi and De Dana Dan.
The actress was also seen in the Punjabi movieRangeelay, opposite Jimmy Shergill.
Neha will next be seen as Jayaprabha in Ekkees Toppon Ki Salaami to be released on October 10 this year. She will also appear in Ungli, co-starring Emraan Hashmi and Kangana Ranaut, this November.
Neha Dhupia sashayed down the catwalk for designer Swati Vijaivargie in a blue Bohemian ensemble at the recently concluded Lakme Fashion Week held in Mumbai. She looked gorgeous in a handmade long silk kurta with geometric, flower printed pink skirt, striped cigarette pants and an orange overcoat.
Also, dance seems to be keeping the actress on her toes these days. She shared a picture of herself posing against a wall with graffiti on it. Looking sporty in a jacket and pants, Neha captioned the picture "Death by dance rehearsal part 2 #sunday"
