Tamil superstar Rajnikanth has thrown open his sprawling marriage hall here for accommodating sanitary workers from various districts engaged in cleaning up the mess created by the recent floods in the city. (Also Read:

The
Kabali star had opened up his Raghavendra Mandapamin Kodambakkam locality for the workers from Namakkal, Karur, Salem, Dharmapuri and Tirupur, a press release from his office said. It also stated that workers were being provided with basic necessities.
The actor had earlier asked his fans to cancel his birthday celebrations on December 12 and instead focus their resources on flood relief and rehabilitation.
Faced with the mammoth task of clearing the garbage, the government had roped in the sanitary workers from across the state.
