Kerala Chief Minister Oommen
Chandy today visited veteran Malayalam film actor Jagathy
Sreekumar at the hospital where he is being treated after he
met with a car accident on March 10.
Chandy, who was en route to Wayanad, spent about 15
minutes with the actor and also spoke to the doctors treating
Sreekumar, hospital sources said.
They said the actor was showing improvement and if it
continued, he would be shifted by air ambulance tomorrow to
Christian Medical College Hospital, Vellore.
A three-member doctors team from CMC had recently
assessed the actor's condition and had decided to shift him to
Vellore. But it was postponed as Sreekumar developed fever and
was kept on ventilator, which has been removed now, they said.
Sreekumar, who has acted in more than 1,000 films, was on
his way to Kodagu in Karnataka for shooting a film when his
car rammed into a road divider and overturned at nearby
Tenhippalam.
He was admitted to the private Malabar Institute of
Medical Sciences hospital, where he has undergone various
surgeries.
