Veteran actor Kamal Haasan, who was admitted to hospital following a bout of food poisoning, says he's fine and that there's no "cause for alarm".
"I know a lot of people would like to make a drama out of this. Sorry to disappoint them. I am fine. It's just a simple case of food poisoning. No cause for alarm," Mr Haasan said over phone from a private hospital in Chennai.
He said, "I am here because of food poisoning and dehydration. Nothing serious than that." (Also Read: Kamal Haasan Hospitalised With Food Poisoning)
The stomach infection happened while shooting. "We were shooting in the interiors of Kerala where there were no proper restaurants. We ate at the roadside
dhabas , probably drank infected water. One of those makeshift food places did not agree with me. So here I am."
He will be discharged on Wednesday.
