Kannada film star Darshan gets bail, could leave jail today

Actor Darshan, who was arrested for domestic violence, has been granted bail by the Karnataka High Court.

The star of hit films like Kalasipalya and Kariya was arrested on September 9 after he allegedly pulled a gun on his wife, Vijayalakshmi. In a complaint to the police, she accused him of torture and abuse, but later withdrew her complaint.

The police however continues its investigation against the actor.

The court today has warned Darshan not to make any attempt to tamper with evidence. He has been asked to appear in court with his wife on the 20th of this month.

After being arrested, Darshan complained that he was unwell and spent a few days in hospital before he returned to prison.
