Movie Review: Mirchi

Movie Review: Mirchi
Mirchi stars Prabhas, Anushka Shetty and Richa Gangopadhyay in the lead.
Telugu actor Prabhas' much anticipated movie Mirchi lives up to expectations, repeating the success of his performance in 2012's hit Rebel.

Critically acclaimed actress Anushka Shetty is seen opposite Prabhas in the film.

Richa Gangopadhyay, who was last seen in 2012 film Sarocharu, is the other female lead in .

The film revolves around Jai (Prabhas), son of Deva (Satyaraj), who is a dreaded factionist. Jai, oblivious to these factional politics, lives and works as an architect in Milan, Italy.

Manasa (Richa), who is also from India, meets Jai in Milan and they fall in love. During one of their conversations, Jai discovers that Manasa is the daughter of rival political leader (Nagineedu).

But Jai has a past. He reveals that he once loved his sister-in-law Vennela (Anushka) which led him to leave India for Italy.

Prabhas has done justice to the film and has given his best. Performances by Anushka and Richa are quite promising as well.

Mirchi is written and directed by debutant Koratala Siva and features actors like Sathyaraj, Adithya and Nadhiya in pivotal roles. The film was tentatively titled Vaaradhi but later renamed Mirchi.

Mirchi has an excellent background score, composed by Devi Sri Prasad.

But apart from good direction and strong performances by lead actors, Mirchi lacks narrative power and is loosely based on an amalgamation of some old films, which makes the film quite predictable.
