ANR dubbed for the film while he was on his deathbed in the hospital
The just-released trailer of Manam is a veritable Kal Aaj Aur Kal starring three generations of the Akkineni family - patriarch Akkineni Nageswara Rao, superstar son Nagarjuna and grandson Naga Chaitanya.
The legendary Akkineni Nageswara Rao or ANR, who died in January while shooting Manam, "lives on" in the film, a fittingly filmy send off to Telugu cinema's grandest old man. He is said to have dubbed for his role in the film on his deathbed.
In the trailer, the three generations of actors romance actresses Shriya Saran and Samantha. Despite one Akkineni declaring "don't marry, be happy," many 'I love you's are exchanged.
Reports suggest the film involves time travel and is loosely based on Hollywood sci-fi/comedy classic Back To The Future.
Manam's release was delayed from March to May of this year. Comedians Ali, Bhrahmanandam and M S Narayana also play important roles in the film while Neetu Chandra plays a cameo.
